Surprise winner in Umag
July 15, 2019
Sinner defeated Pedro Sousa 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of Umag on Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 17-year-old picked up just his second win of the season at the top level, knocking out No. 111 Sousa in a match that lasted one hour and 44 minutes. Sinner was able to convert four of his six break points in the match, and hold serve 70 percent of the time. The young Italian will surely be a sizeable underdog when he takes on Aljaz Bedene in the second round.
