The 19-year-old NCAA champion out of Florida announced himself at the pro level as he dominated the world No. 5 while losing a total of just eight points on serve across one hour and eight minutes. It was just the fourth career tour-level match for Shelton, who now must be poised to leave college tennis behind. The American teenager, ranked No. 229 and rising, is coming off a final showing last week at a Challenger tournament in Chicago.
