Nick Martini News: Joins Athletics

Martini signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Thursday.

After recently getting removed from the Rockies' 40-man roster, Martini elected free agency Monday. He's landed a new opportunity and could eventually find his way to the big-league club as a depth option in the outfield. The 34-year-old slashed .225/.288/.294 with one home run in 111 plate appearances with Colorado this season.
