Brock Wilken

The Brewers and those rostering Wilken in dynasty leagues will hope that 2024 was a lost season and that he'll recapture some prospect shine in 2025. The hulking 6-foot-4 third baseman was hit on the face by a fastball on April 11 and had to wear a face cage on his helmet for the rest of the season to protect multiple facial fractures. He hit .199 on with a .312 on-base percentage, 28.2 percent strikeout rate and 17 home runs in 108 games at Double-A, which was still above-average production (105 wRC+) in the Southern League. Strikeouts were the main concern with Wilken coming out of Wake Forest, and he's a bad athlete and runner, so high batting averages were likely never in the cards. However, he's still 22 and has a chance to log quality on-base percentages with enough power to profile at an infield corner. If it's more of the same in 2025, he'll plummet down prospect rankings even further, but there's a chance the 2023 first rounder will look more like the middle-of-the-order masher the Brewers thought they were getting in the draft now that he won't need to wear the extra helmet protection.
