FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

FanDuel's new pricing system opens up some interesting doors for DFS owners, as it will take some maneuvering to get used to the new outlook. What they've done is rise the prices of studs and lower the price tags of players with limited roles. That's where we need to capitalize, as there are random players getting big minutes right now. That's why we're going to focus on players below $9,000, so you can get five-figure players like John Wall, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo into your lineup…

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL at TOR ($5,400): It seems strange to recommend a guy who has just 40 combined points across his last five games, but that just shows what makes Brogdon a solid option. Despite those low-scoring totals, Brogdon has at least 24 fantasy points in three of his last five games, as he continues to stuff the stat sheet at ease. His role is still heavy too, as Brogdon is still starting at point guard and averaging 32 minutes per game in this series. That's a ton of opportunity for a $5,400 player.

Patrick McCaw, GS at POR ($3,700): With Kevin Durant out, McCaw has been starting and playing some of the best ball of his rookie campaign. In fact, McCaw is averaging 25.5 fantasy points in the two games he's started in this series. He's also averaging 32 minutes, so his role is safe at this sort of price. The icing on the cake is the matchup though, with the Warriors averaging 119 points a game in seven games against Portland.

Norman Powell, TOR vs. MIL ($3,100): Powell got a rare start in Game 4 where he scored 25 fantasy points in 34 minutes of action, which followed up a 21-point outing in Game 3. That shows just how effective he can be and it comes at an incredible price. Paying $3,100 means that you need just 18 fantasy points from Powell to provide elite value and that appears to be his floor in this new role.

Draymond Green, GS at POR ($8,800): Green has destroyed the Blazers in this playoff series, as he's averaging over 48 fantasy points per game. That should come as no surprise considering the matchup either, as Portland allowed the fourth most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season. What makes him so reliable is his ability to stuff the stat sheet, as he's accumulated 34 points, 32 rebounds, 26 assists, six steals and 14 blocks in this series alone.

Serge Ibaka, TOR vs. MIL ($6,300): Ibaka has been great in this series and it's clear he's a much better player with Kyle Lowry on the floor. In fact, Ibaka has at least 30 fantasy points in three of the four games against Milwaukee. The one game he didn't reach that 30-point threshold was a blowout in Game 3, in which he played just 26 minutes. The price makes him enticing too, as he's one of the few players who didn't see a major bump in price with FanDuel's new pricing system. It's no surprise Milwaukee is struggling with Ibaka, as their main weakness is in their frontcourt.

Evan Turner, POR vs. GS ($4,900): Turner has been a nice bright spot for Portland in this series, as he's one of the only players helping out C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard. Not only is he starting and playing 34 minutes per game, Turner's becoming one of the primary playmakers on this team. That's evident by the fact that he's averaging 29 fantasy points per game in this series. It comes at an unbelievable price too, as this sort of production is more indicative of a player north of $6,000.

Greg Monroe, MIL at TOR ($6,800): Center is a tough position on this slate, but Monroe has been a great spark for Milwaukee off their bench. His reliability is hard to overlook, as he's put together seven straight games with at least 20 fantasy points. The fact that he has at least 30 fantasy points in five of those games shows just how much upside he has. Usually bench players are tough to gauge in terms of consistency, but that's not the case with Monroe. That's clear by the fact that Monroe has a usage rate north of 27 in these playoffs, which happens to be the second highest on the Bucks behind Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Marcin Gortat, WSH at ATL ($5,600): Gortat is the only starting center that's reliable on this slate and it's amazing his price is still south of $6,000. Not only does he have at least 21 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games, he's averaging 28 fantasy points for this series. That just adds to his season numbers against Atlanta, as he averaged over 26 fantasy points in four games against them in the regular season.
