2026 Fantasy Outlook
If Judkins comes back from ankle surgery at full strength, he should be a weekly starter in fantasy leagues even if the Browns don't have much else going for them in Todd Monken's first year as head coach. Judkins suffered a season-ending dislocated right ankle in Week 16 last year, cruelly cutting short what was otherwise a promising rookie campaign. The broader struggles of the Cleveland offense landed hard on Judkins as the season wore on, but he outplayed his box score, and that box score wasn't even so bad. His seven touchdowns and 3.6 YPC across 14 games represent acceptable production in light of how dysfunctional the Browns were on offense -- an outcome precipitated by a downpour of injuries on the offensive line. Their blocking should be better in 2026 after an aggressive offseason overhaul, but Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders are still the biggest names at quarterback, and Dylan Sampson seems like the favorite for passing-down snaps in the backfield. There's no denying Judkins' talent as a runner, and he's even shown potential to develop as a pass catcher, but that doesn't mean everything will go smoothly as he comes back from major surgery to join a perennially rebuilding team. Praised by RB coach
Browns running backs coach Duce Staley said Friday that the "sky's the limit" for Judkins, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
"I'm gonna push him to find out," Staley added of Judkins, who is participating in training camp after recovering from a dislocated right ankle and fractured fibula suffered in Week 16 of the 2025 season. Prior to the injury, Judkins enjoyed a productive rookie campaign, totaling 998 scrimmage yards and seven rushing touchdowns in 14 regular-season appearances. Judkins is expected to work as Cleveland's lead back, with fellow second-year pro Dylan Sampson serving in a change-of-pace role.

Most were surprised when the Browns selected Judkins 36th overall in the 2025 draft, but it's easy to make the case he was worth the pick. At 6 feet, 221 pounds, Judkins has almost the exact same frame as 22nd overall pick Omarion Hampton, whose 4.46 40 was just a hair better than Judkins' 4.48. Before running that 40, Judkins was mostly thought of as a power specialist, in part because his career average of 5.1 yards per carry was dragged down by a lot of short-yardage work. He scored 45 rushing touchdowns in 42 games at Ole Miss and Ohio State, often taking the highest-difficulty carries while smaller backs (like fellow second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson) got the YPC-boosting looks. When a defense needed a crucial stop, Judkins was the last person they wanted to see on the field. His preparation for the 2025 was stalled due to a legal case (since resolved) and the lack of a contract. Judkins eventually signed in the days leading up to Week 1, but the Browns will receive a two-week roster exemption, indicating the won't play the first games. Once ready to go, Judkins could become the lead back, although Jerome Ford remains the favorite for passing-down snaps. Fourth-round pick and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson is a solid prospect in his own right, and he'll likely start off as the No. 2 back behind Ford until Judkins is ready.

Impresses RB coach
Judkins has impressed running backs coach Duce Staley with his work this offseason, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In addition to naturally being impressed by Judkins' on-field exploits, Staley was particularly taken by the way the second-year back attacked his rehab from the dislocated ankle and fractured fibula that ended his rookie campaign in Week 16 of last season. Staley noted he feels "the sky is the limit" with respect to Judkins' upside, and he emphasized he believes "Q can play all three downs."
