2025 Fantasy Outlook
This summer, the Celtics drafted Gonzalez with the 28th overall pick. The 19-year-old spent the 2024-25 season with Real Madrid and had trouble receiving consistent playing time on what was a veteran-laden squad. The 6-foot-6 slashing Spaniard is an athletic wing with the potential to also play point guard. He's joining Boston at the right time. After multiple all-in seasons, the Celtics need to treat 2025-26 as a bridge season towards 2026-27 and the return of injured star Jayson Tatum (Achilles). That means they need to develop talent, escape the second apron and maintain roster flexibility. With the departure of both Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, plus the absence of Tatum, there are plenty of available minutes in Boston. If the C's are serious about their plans to develop Gonzalez, they would be wise to let him play more than the 10 minutes per contest he received with Real Madrid. Unfortunately, much of that playing time may occur with the Maine Celtics of the G League. We'll see. Read Past Outlooks
Plays just eight minutes
Gonzalez logged two points (1-1 FG) and one rebound in eight minutes during Monday's 105-103 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
After drawing a start at the end of October, Gonzalez was moved back to the bench and has averaged 11 minutes in the four games since. The rookie has posted multiple steals in three of six appearances this season, but he remains on the fringes of Boston's rotation and is unlikely to see much playing time when the team is at full strength.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Role could be volatile
When talking about Gonzales, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla indicated Monday that his rotations could be volatile, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports.
ANALYSIS
"We have a lot of guys, we have a lot of depth," Mazzulla said. "We can go to offensive lineups, defensive lineups. I thought he did a great job in the 18 minutes he was out there. But you also have to think about matchups. He's answered the call." Gonzales has appeared in two of Boston's four games to open the regular season, and he most recently sat out the entire game Monday against the Pelicans. Gonzalez seems to have a bright future with the club, but it's clear the Celtics will bring him along slowly.
