$Signs a two-year, $3.82 million contract with the Raptors on July of 2024. Contract includes $2.3 million team option for 2026-27.
Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary
Mogbo began his collegiate basketball career at Independence Community College as a redshirt freshman in 2020-21, coming off the bench in 10 of his 23 appearances. He then transferred to another JUCO team for 2021-22, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He was a full-time starter there, averaging 14.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.4 blocks. That was enough to gain the attention of D1 teams, with Mogbo transferring to Missouri State in 2022-23. He started 25 of his 30 appearances, averaging 8.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks in 24.4 minutes. Upon transferring to San Francisco, the forward had a breakout campaign. He was named to the WCC All-Conference First Team and Newcomer of the Year behind averages of 14.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks in 28.9 minutes. Mogbo projects as an undersized center at the NBA level who can use his plus wingspan and strength to hold his own. Part of what locks him into that role is his complete absence of a three-ball, though he shot a career-high 69.2% from the charity stripe last season, suggesting a mid-range shot could develop. Regardless, the strengths of his offensive game are his finishing ability inside, his rebounding and his playmaking. He's great at the standard big-man game, but he's shown off intriguing passing upside and some ballhandling potential that makes him diverse in the halfcourt and difficult to deal with in transition. Mogbo has defensive upside and has shown the potential to switch onto the perimeter with some lateral quickness, but he does have a tendency to gamble. He may also struggle to be a high-level shot blocker at the NBA level due to his height and average vertical athleticism. Mogbo will hope to be drafted in the second round and potentially enter a rotation as a rookie. He has a unique skill set as an undersized center with passing upside, but one who doesn't shoot threes. Mogbo has vague similarities to Bam Adebayo, Aaron Gordon and Kyle O'Quinn. Becoming a strong all-around defender would go a long way in ensuring Mogbo a place in the NBA.
ANALYSIS The Raptors will start the game without a traditional point guard, so RJ Barrett is likely to be the one who orchestrates the offense. Mogbo will add size in the frontcourt alongside Jakob Poeltl. This will be the second career start for the big man, who's averaging 7.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game in his last five appearances off the bench.

FFree Agent
June 21, 2024
Mogbo is a player the Jazz might target with their second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, according to Sarah Todd of The Deseret News.
ANALYSIS If the Jazz end up using the 32nd overall pick in the draft, then Mogbo could be a player worth targeting due to his two-way impact and his long-term upside, which would already be a solid return from a second-round pick. Mogbo spent the 2023-24 college season at San Francisco, where he averaged 14.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest.
