According to NFL.com's Adam Shefter Harrison's release is a foregone conclusion.

Cruel as it is, one of the great things about the NFL is the ruthless necessity of putting value ahead of politics. It makes the product better, and it's more honest. You'd never have the spectacle of a washed up Cal Ripken soaking up valuable at-bats for the sake of a streak in the NFL. The Colts can honor Harrison after he retires.

Oh, and bump Anthony Gonzalez into the top-20 among receivers.
