Picks, 7|FRONTS|16|FRONTS|10

Nothing jumped out at me on last night's short card, so we'll start our second half picking off tonight's almost full one. I think a 27-unit first half is a nice start, and I'm hoping to build on that over the next six weeks. I do not think September will be a productive month, as winning that night's game becomes less important to many teams, so these next few weeks are important.

You can't lose what you don't put in the middle. But you can't win much, either.

Colorado +109 , two units. The Rockies, and tonight's started Jason Hammel, remain criminally undervalued. They're the better team tonight and they have the better starter.

Florida +104, two units. Fading Stephen Strasburg is a standard move. Getting Ricky Nolasco at plus money at home -- and I'm concede that he's been a disappointment -- isn't, just a very happy accident.

Los Angeles (NL)/St. Louis over 7.5 (-117), one unit. Partially a fade of Jaime Garcia, partially a fade of Chad Billingsley. This might be a marginal pick.Seatt

Seattle/Los Angeles AL) under 7 (-125), two units. I might have gone under at six, maybe even five. This is the second-best game of the night, with only the Rays/Yankees game, and the pregame tribute to George Steinbrenner, coming close.
