NHL Observations: Double digits for Pasta, Patrice and the Honey Badger

  • Pasta, Patrice and the Honey Badger put up another double-digit game (11 points). The Bolts seriously need to find a way to go gluten free.
  • Tuukka Rask, ninja assassin. Why else would he pitch a detached skate blade like a throwing star? Then again, he does look a little like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle....

  • So much for Tampa's best shutdown group. Brayden Point, Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson -- and the team's illustrious defensive trio (Anton Stralman, Ryan McDonagh and Victor Hedman) -- finished a combined minus-20. They played the whole game against Pastrnak, Bergeron and Marchand.
  • Brent Burns had just two goals in his last 24 regular-season games, the same number he had Saturday in a 12:07 span in the second. Release the hounds.
  • Damn, Vegas is fast. It was like the attack of the killer bees. They came over the boards in swarms, line after line.
  • The resurrection of Rick Nash is upon us. Each goal means more money in free agency. So instead of $1 million per season, he could get $1.2. Stick a fork in him.
  • Back to Pasta and his crew. Interesting fact: in wins (five), the best line in hockey has tallied a whopping 12 goals and 41 points. In losses (three), the trio has laid goose eggs -- no goals and not a single point. The Bolts know what they need to do.
