DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Friday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

It's another busy Friday college basketball slate with featured contests on DraftKings and FanDuel beginning at 7 p.m. EST. Five top-25 teams are in action as DraftKings features their $10 Big Jam Contest with a $2,000 top prize, while FanDuel has the $5.55 All-American with $1,000 to first.

Top Players

Jamal Cain, F, Oakland ($7,800 DK)

Cain has found a new home in Oakland after being a four-year player and starter last season for Marquette, although he wasn't able to shine in an offense that was led by NBA player DJ Carton and UNC transfer Dawson Garcia. He's been given that opportunity at his new mid-major program, where he's already posted a pair of double-doubles while accounting for 17 shots per game. He's a prime target to pay up for tonight against Alabama in what's the highest over/under on the slate.

Azuolas Tubelis, F, Arizona ($7,600 DK, $7,100 FD)

Arizona has eased into the season with three blowouts and Tubelis hasn't seen more than 25 minutes as the bench has received increased playing time. That should change tonight against an undefeated Wichita State squad, with Tubelis likely to return to his usual 30-35 minute range. This should be a great matchup for the 6-11 post player as the Shockers don't start anyone over 6-8 and will also have to matchup with 7-1 center Christian Koloko. Expect the offense to run through Tubelis with a double-double likely.

Middle Tier

Neal Quinn, F, Lafayette ($6,300 DK)

It can be common to overlook the weakest team on the slate with most people not knowing much about Layafette, but someone has to put up fantasy points for them even in a game that is unlikely to be closely contested. Duke has struggled against opposing centers thus far, giving up 14/5 against Gardner Webb and 12/8 against Campbell. Quinn has been by far the most efficient player for Lafayette dating back to last season and is nearly averaging a double-double with 8.3 rebounds through three games.

Ricky Council, G, Wichita State ($6,000 DK, $6,200 FD)

Council has looked much improved to start his second season, posting a 36-point fantasy game already, and is showing great range as a 43 percent career three-point shooter. Arizona's frontcourt size will likely give Council the opportunity to get some good looks from deep, and the Wildcats will create extra possessions in the game with how they like to push the tempo. Although Council mainly played a bench role last season, he's seen 30+ minutes as a starter in each of the last two games.

Values

Mark Sears, G, Ohio ($5,400 DK, $6,600 FD)

Ohio has a sneaky good team led by its point guard in Sears, and he gets a nice $1,200 discount compared to his FanDuel pricing on DraftKings. The sophomore has taken on a starting role and is averaging a whopping 1.09 fantasy points per minute, essentially making him a must-play on the slate. If you're looking to stack someone else from this game with him, look at Jason Carter ($7,200 DK, $8,100 FD) who has posted two double-doubles already after transferring back to Ohio from Xavier.

Jamir Chaplin, G/F, South Florida ($4,900 DK)

Chaplin returns as one of just a few players that logged minutes for South Florida last season as they feature a revamped look. He's locked into a starting role and has reached double figures in 2-of-3 games, something you don't see all that often in the under $5k-range. Although the Bulls will get their toughest test yet in Auburn, this is another team that pushes the pace and should result in a high total. Chaplin has accounted for 27.4 percent of shots when he's on the floor -- highest of the team's starters.
