TImberlake (shoulder) committed Thursday to Memphis, joining the program as a transfer from Miami (Fla.), Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A highly-regarded recruit from the 2020 cycle, Timberlake appeared in only seven games for the Hurricanes as a true freshman while missing time due to ankle and shoulder injuries. Despite the injury-plagued campaign, the 6-foot-6 forward was still a sought-after commodity upon placing his name in the transfer portal March 14, and he eventually found a home in Memphis under head coach Penny Hardaway. Timberlake should have up to four years of eligibility to use with Memphis, and if healthy, he could contend for a starting role in 2021-22. For his part, Timberlake said he won't require offseason surgery on his left shoulder and expects to 100 percent by the summer.
