Brennan Presley

Presley was as consistent as they come a year ago with at least four catches in 10 of 13 games a year ago. The only problem is that he didn’t do much with those opportunities at just 62.5 yards per game. His yards per target was just okay at 8.9, however, that’s expected to take a jump in 2023 with Alan Bowman who is more of a pure passer than Spencer Sanders was the previous three years. Bowman was known for chucking the ball around when he was at Texas Tech early in his career. Head coach Mike Gundy would love to get back to airing the ball out, but it’s also possible they choose to lean more on the run game as the strength of this team will be on the defense. If they do decide to throw the ball at a higher clip, Presley will have the most value as he projects to be the team’s number one receiver.

Presley was fantastic in the Fiesta Bowl with 10 catches for 137 yards on 15 targets against a solid Notre Dame secondary. If that was a sign of what is to come, watch out for Presley who takes over as the likely number one receiver with a fourth-year quarterback in Spencer Sanders and a coach in Mike Gundy who likes to have a potent offense. Presley can handle a higher load of targets as he saw five or more targets in eight games last season and that was with Tay Martin as the top receiver for the Cowboys. Expect Presley to slide in to that role ahead of Blaine Green and Jaden Bray on the depth chart.
