First T20I Preview: India vs. Australia

Australia and India are ready to lock horns in the first T20 international of the three-match series in Brisbane on Wednesday. The home side will enter in the contest in a desperate state to turn things around as they've suffered four-straight defeats in the shortest format of the game.

In the batting department, Kangaroos will be depending on the experienced trio of captain Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell and Chris Lynn to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the team will be relying on the pace-quartet of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff and Billy Stanlake to produce breakthroughs.

On the other hand, the Men in Blue will enter in the series full of confidence after registering an impressive 3-0 whitewash of West Indies in their last 20-over assignment. In the batting department, the team will be relying on captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma to score bulk of the runs, whereas in the bowling department, the onus will be on Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to provide timely breakthroughs.

The match will be played at the Gabba, which is also known as the "fortress" of Australian cricket. There've been only three T20Is played at the venue, with the highest score of 209 was registered by Australia in 2006. Highest individual scored of 96 was registered by Damien Martyn whereas best bowling figures of 3-28 was registered by James Faulkner.

Key Players:

Virat Kohli – 11 Cr

First in the list of key players features India captain Virat Kohli. The 29-year-old is in great form with the bat in white-ball cricket but has not played a T20 international since July earlier this year. Even then, he is the player to have in your team because of his record in T20Is. Valued at 11 Cr, Kohli has represented India in 62 T20Is, scoring 2,102 runs under his belt at an outstanding average of 48.88. While playing in Australia, Kohli averages 84 with the strike-rate of 149.11, which shows he can prove to be a brilliant signing for your team.

Aaron Finch – 10.5 Cr

Second in the list of key players features Australia captain Aaron Finch. The 32-year-old has had an outstanding record in the shortest format of the game, but is going through a lean patch. Valued at 10.5 Cr, Finch is still the man to put your money on as he has the ability to turn the game upside down in the matter of few overs. Finch has represented the Baggy Greens in 47 T20Is, scoring 1,608 at an average of 40.02 and with the strike-rate of 158.26. In eight matches against India, Finch averages 42.75 with the strike-rate of 143.09, which includes two half-centuries.

Nathan Coulter-Nile – 8.5 Cr

Last in the list features Australia's Nathan Coulter-Nile. The 31-year-old has shown in the recent past that he has ability to deliver at the big stage. Valued at 8.5 Cr, Coulter-Nile has claimed five wickets in last four outings in the 20-over format which shows that he is more than a capable player to have in your lineup. The Osborne Park-born right-hander has represented Australia in 24 T20Is, where he has 30 wickets at an average of 23.43.
