India vs. Australia: Second ODI Preview

India will look to strengthen their grip on the series as they take on Australia in the second ODI at Nagpur on Tuesday. It turned out to be a comprehensive 6-wicket victory for the Indian side in the previous match at Hyderabad. The bowlers did their job on a tricky Hyderabad track. Kuldeep Yadav, in particular, was brilliant throughout his spell. Although Jasprit Bumrah was a touch expensive, he continued his habit of picking up wickets. Mohammad Shami on the other hand continued his steady rise in ODIs ever since his comeback. They did face some difficulty while chasing a modest target of 237 runs, being reduced to 4 for 99, but Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni carried them home safely with an unbeaten 141 runs stand for the fifth wicket.

Australia on the other hand will rue the failure of their batsmen to convert starts into big knocks. All of their batsmen like Marcus Stoinis, Usman Khawaja and others, did the hard work and got off to steady starts. But they threw their wickets away instead of putting the anchors down and carrying on. The Australian bowlers did a good job to send four of their best batsmen to the pavilion within the first 100 runs, but they need to work on their habit of closing down matches. As the second ODI begins at Nagpur, both sides will look to address their issues once again.

Weather and Pitch conditions: Bright and sunny skies throughout the day. Dew won't play

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: MS Dhoni (8.5 Cr)

The Indian Keeper played a gritty knock of 59 runs off 72 deliveries, and was also involved in a match-winning partnership of 141 with Kedar Jadhav in the previous match. His role is going to be crucial in this match once again. Keeping points are also guaranteed for him considering that India has one of the best pace and spin bowling attacks.

Batsman: Virat Kohli (11 Cr)

Kohli might have been dismissed for just 44 runs in the previous match but he played fluently as long as he was there at the crease. Be will come out more determined this time around and a big knock may be just around the corner.

All-Rounder: Kedar Jadhav (8.5 Cr)

The Indian all-rounder registered all-round performances of 1/31 with the ball and an unbeaten 81 with the bat to steer India to victory in the first ODI at Hyderabad. His role will be equally crucial in this match as well.

Bowler: Nathan Coulter-Nile (8.5 Cr)

Coulter-Nile was the most impressive of the Aussie bowlers in the previous match. He registered bowling figures of 2/46 in his nine overs, which included two maidens as well. He has been in fine form in the last couple of months and would be eager to carry that forward.
