India Women vs. England Women: Second T20I Preview

The England eves didn't start the tour in the best way as they lost their first two matches of the ODI series. However, they have won back to back matches—the final match of the ODI series and the first match of the ongoing three-match T20I series—since then, and would be looking forward to seal the fate of the series as they take on the Indian eves in the second T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

India were completely outplayed in the first T20I. The batting exploits of Tammy Beaumont, Danielle Wyatt and Heather Knight broke the spirit of the Indian bowlers first. And then it was the excellent bowling by the England bowlers that restricted their batsmen to a paltry total of 119/6. None of the Indian batters got going, Shikha Pandey was the top scorer with 23 runs to her name off 21 deliveries. She was the only batter in the lineup with a strike-rate of above 100.

England on the other hand have got most things right. Their batters have taken the responsibility and their bowlers have responded well too. They have gained some momentum in their last two matches, and they would be eager to carry that forward into this match as well.

Weather and Pitch Conditions: Overnight showers in forecast but Sunny skies are expected during match duration. The showers may leave some moisture in the pitch this bringing the pacers into play a lot more.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Tammy Beaumont (9 Cr)

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Tammy Beaumont (9 Cr)

Beaumont played a beautiful hand of 62 runs in the first T20I. She believes in playing the long game and guiding her team till the end of the innings.

Batsman: Smriti Mandhana (11 Cr)

Mandhana might have been dismissed cheaply in the previous match but that will only increase her hunger to perform in this one. She is one of the most temperamentally string players going around, and big returns can be expected from her this match.

All-Rounder: Natalie Sciver (10.5 Cr)

Sciver bats in the middle order and bowls at least two to three overs for England in every match. That make her very valuable form the fantasy perspective.

Bowler: Poonam Yadav (9 Cr)

The Indian leggie is a wicket-taker capable of binding the batters under her spell. He is economical too when she is at her best. You can expect her to come up with a strong performance in this match.

Captain: Smriti Mandhana

Vice-Captain: Natalie Sciver
