We have a day full of football on the final preseason slate. It will be time to count down to Eagles-Cowboys soon enough, but let's cash one more preseason DFS lineup before we move on to the regular season.
As a quick note, there are two slates of nearly equal size. The early slate starts at 1 p.m. EDT and features five games, and the latter at 7 p.m. with four games. The writeups below focus on the night slate, but we'll give a brief list of players of interest for the afternoon contests as well.
Both DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineups consist of one QB, two RBs, three WRs, one TE, one FLEX (RB/WR/TE) and one DST unit. DraftKings uses PPR scoring with bonuses for 100-yard receiving or rushing performances and 300-yard passing games, while FanDuel has 0.5 PPR scoring.
As always, our RotoWire NFL Optimizer can help you pinpoint top DFS targets, in addition to the players highlighted below.
Afternoon Players of Interest
Quarterback
Jarrett Stidham, DEN
Stetson Bennett, LAR
Jalen Milroe, SEA
Running Back
Tahj Brooks, CIN
Jarquez Hunter, LAR
Pierre Strong, CLE
George Holani/Damien Martinez, SEA
Israel Abanikanda, GB
Wide Receiver
Mason Tipton, NO
Brennan Presley, LAR
Jackson Meeks/Isaac TeSlaa, DET
Tight End
Tanner Hudson, CIN
Quarterback
Aidan O'Connell at ARI
Only Skylar Thompson (three games) and Stetson Bennett have attempted more passes than O'Connell this preseason. O'Connell has been surprisingly poor with the opportunity but volume should be on his side once again.
Quinn Ewers vs. JAX
Ewers likely hasn't done enough to push for the backup job in Miami, but it's at least been a topic of conversation. He's struggled at times, but he performed well in his second preseason game and should play the majority of the game.
Running Back
Frank Gore – at TB
Gore could be lining himself up for a roster spot and accounted for eight of Buffalo's 13 rushing attempts Sunday. Although the games are meaningless, coach Sean McDermott seems intent on the Bills performing better in the preseason finale, so we can project more offensive plays. That should benefit Gore.
Ollie Gordon – vs. JAX
Gordon is another back with opportunity in front of him. De'Von Achane (calf) and Jaylen Wright (undisclosed) both are unlikely to suit up. That leaves Gordon in line to lead the Dolphins' backfield, and he should get a chance to run with the starters and deeper into the game.
Owen Wright vs. BUF
Wright has had wide fluctuations in his workload in two preseason games, but he had a huge performance in Week 1. He's likely be more of a boom-or-bust option relative to the first two recommendations, but he could pay off big.
Wide Receiver
KeAndre Lambert-Smith - at SF
Few players have seen their fantasy stock rise as fast or as sharply as Lambert-Smith this summer. He's likely to be a starter Saturday, with Ladd McConkey almost certainly sitting and Quentin Johnston still in concussion protocol. The danger is that Lambert-Smith might not get much playing time, but he's shown splash-play ability already.
Tahj Washington/Theo Wease – vs. JAX
Wease had a massive performance in the second week of preseason, while Tahj Washington has been the steadiest pass catcher. Both are likely to get extended run once again, with the choice being a more consistent option against a wider variance option. Both are worth considering in stacks with Ewers.
Robbie Chosen - vs. LAC
The 49ers are dealing with a dizzying number of receiver injuries this preseason, and Chosen emerged in his second game with the team last weekend. He's likely just a camp body, but that should also lead to plenty of snaps and chances to produce.
Tight End
Carter Runyon - at ARI
Tight end is always tough in preseason, and there are bigger names available on Saturday's slate such as Oronde Gadsden. However, Runyon is second on the Raiders in both receptions and yards in two exhibition games. His ceiling isn't necessarily high, but there should be a bankable role for Saturday's game.
Tanner Conner – vs. JAX
Conner is an upside option at the position. He didn't play in Miami's first preseason game, but he then put up a 6-48 line in the second. There's also the added bonus of potentially stacking the Miami offense, which typically isn't a great idea in preseason but could work given the usage we've seen from the Dolphins.
Defense/Special Teams
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have announced their quarterback breakdown for the final preseason game, and the 49ers' defense should be in an advantageous position. DJ Uiagalelei will play the vast majority of the contest in his first significant run as a pro. Given his college track record, sacks and turnovers are likely to be plentiful.
