2025 Fantasy Outlook
Olszewski didn't play at all in 2024 due to a groin injury. Nonetheless, the Giants re-signed the veteran return specialist near the beginning of training camp after Bryce Ford-Wheaton suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Olszewski has never caught more than five passes in an NFL regular season, as he's worked almost exclusively as a return specialist. That will likely be his role in 2025 as well, though Ihmir Smith-Marsette is expected to be the Giants' top kick and punt returner. Read Past Outlooks

Olszewski caught his only target for a 24-yard touchdown Sunday in a loss to San Francisco. He also returned three kicks for 80 yards.
ANALYSIS
Olszewski has worked almost exclusively as a special-teamer for the past three campaigns, but he got a little work on offense Sunday after Beaux Collins went down with a neck injury in the third quarter. Olszewski made the most of his opportunity, hauling in a 24-yard reception from Jaxson Dart with less than 90 seconds remaining in the game. The 49ers had essentially wrapped up the win by that point, but it was still a positive moment for Olszewski, who made his first regular-season reception since he caught one pass in 2023 and scored his first offensive touchdown since 2020. He doesn't figure to suddenly become a central part of New York's passing game, but given the very shaky state of the receiving corps behind Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton, Olszewski could get more looks on offense moving forward, especially if Collins needs to miss additional time.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2020
Olszewski saw plenty of work returning kickoffs and punts in New England in 2020 and 2021, and he signed a two-year deal with the Steelers ahead of the 2022 season. He lost his job as Pittsburgh's return man after fumbling twice over the first four weeks of the year, but he could begin 2023 as the primary returner after Steven Sims signed with the Texans. Offensively, he secured just five of seven targets for 53 yards while rushing eight times for 39 yards, so it seems unlikely that he'll be a significant fantasy contributor this year, especially after the team acquired Allen Robinson this offseason.
Olszewski spent the first three seasons of his career with the Patriots and secured nine of 12 targets for 127 yards and a touchdown while rushing six times for 32 yards. His biggest impact came while returning kickoffs and punts, and he'll likely have a chance to serve as the Steelers' top return man after he signed a two-year deal with Pittsburgh in March.
Olszewski finished the 2020 season with five catches (on five targets) for 62 yards and a touchdown and five carries for 23 yards in 13 games. Though the 6-0, 190-pounder hasn't seen much work in the Patriots offense in two pro campaigns, he did make quite a mark as a returner, fielding 18 kickoffs for 418 yards and 20 punts for 346 yards and a TD. The 24-year-old's strong effort in that department led to him being selected to the AP 2020 All-Pro First Team as a special teamer. Olszewski thus should reprise his role in the return game this coming season. Whether he sees more opportunities as a pass catcher, however, hinges largely on the health of the handful of receivers currently ahead of him on the depth chart.
Olszewski caught two passes for 34 yards and averaged nine yards on 20 punt returns in eight games last season before landing on injured reserve with an ankle issue in November. In 2020, the 23-year-old is slated to compete for a depth wideout role and if he sticks should also maintain a role in the return game. A strong training camp and the release of Mohamed Sanu have increased Olszewski's odds of sticking, but his deep sleeper appeal is minimal, so long as Julian Edelman remains healthy.

Likely to be tendered
WRNew England Patriots
January 25, 2022
Olszewski is expected to be tendered a contract after he becomes a restricted free agent in March, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Olszewski will have to be tendered an offer by 4 p.m. EST on March 17, and the Patriots can offer either a first, second or original-round tender. That choice will dictate Olszewski's potential salary, or the compensation that the Patriots would receive if he departs for another team. Olszewski recorded only a modest two catches for 31 yards across 16 games in 2021, but he served as the team's primary kick and punt returner.
