Ruiz started 16 games last season after suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury in 2022. The 2020 first-round pick signed a four-year, $44 million extension last September, and he'll provide stability as the Saints' starting right guard in 2024.
Ruiz suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury last December, and he did not have his fifth-year option picked up by the Saints this offseason. Barring injury setbacks, the 2020 first-round pick should return to his starting role at right guard.
Ruiz is expected to start at guard for the Saints in 2022, as he continues to show major improvements in his game since being drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Ruiz is expected to start at guard on a strong Saints offensive line.

Poised for starting role
OGNew Orleans Saints
May 10, 2020
The Saints' release of veteran Larry Warford on Saturday, reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, opens up a starting spot on the offensive line for Ruiz.
ANALYSIS
Andrus Peat and Warford were slotted in to start at the guard spots for New Orleans, but it appears Ruiz will instead get crack at securing a job. The 24th overall pick in April's draft was the consensus top interior lineman of the draft after spending his collegiate career at Michigan.
