Felton returns for his fourth NFL season and has two fewer backs ahead of him on the depth chart. He's spent the first few years in a hybrid role, mostly practicing with the wideouts, but early in 2023 camp Felton joined the running back room. He's third in line behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford but could emerge as a third-down back in an offense that expects to throw more than it did in 2022.

Gets look from Commanders
Felton was part of a tryout with Washington on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Commanders lost Austin Ekeler for the season with a torn Achilles in Thursday's loss to the Packers and are looking for additional backfield depth as a result. Khalil Herbert and Nyheim Hines were also part of the workout, and the team has already signed Chase Edmonds to its practice squad. Felton was with Washington in training camp but didn't survive cutdown day, and he hasn't taken a snap in the NFL since 2022.
