2025 Fantasy Outlook
Hopkins had a bunch of career highs in 2023, his first season with the Browns, followed by a slew of career lows in his second year on the team. He made 18 of 27 field-goal attempts, with both the percentage (66.7 percent) and number of misses (nine) representing the worst marks of his 10-year career. The good news for Hopkins is that he signed an extension last summer and has full guarantees for his 2025 compensation, leaving the Browns with no financial motivation to move on. The 34-year-old figures to face competition this summer, but he'll at least get the chance to keep his job rather than being dismissed beforehand for cap reasons. Read Past Outlooks
Finishes on high note
Hopkins converted his lone field-goal attempt and extra-point kick in Saturday's 35-10 loss to Baltimore in Week 18.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins buried a chip shot from 23 yards early in the second quarter before the game got away from the Browns, who were thinking only about touchdowns the rest of the way. The four points scored were the most for a Cleveland kicker since Week 12. After a very successful 2023 -- one that resulted in a three-year contract in the offseason -- Hopkins went the other way in 2024. Part of that is attributable to an offense that fell apart, but Hopkins made just 18 of 27 (67 percent) of his field-goal tries. That prompted the Browns to bring in kickers to challenge him, and head coach Kevin Stefanski made him inactive for Week 15. The offseason for the 3-14 Browns will bring change, which could include competition for Hopkins.

Known for his short-range accuracy more so than leg strength, Hopkins spent six and a half seasons with the Commanders and then parts of two seasons with the Chargers before landing in Cleveland last year for what ended up being his best effort yet. Having made just 15 of 30 attempts from 50-plus yards prior to 2023, he surprisingly went 8 of 8 from long distance last season and 33 of 36 on all field-goal attempts. Hopkins attempted just 26 PATs, making 24, yet finished 11th among kickers in fantasy points (and second in points per game - 9.3). A hamstring injury cost him the final two games of the regular season plus a playoff loss to Houston, and there's now some question about his future with the team, strange as that may seem. The Browns can free up $3.54 million in cap space if Hopkins is traded/released, and they're carrying two other kickers -- Cade York and Lucas Havrisik -- on the offseason roster. That said, Hopkins' 85.8 percent career FG rate and 2023 success should allow him to find another job if things don't work out in Cleveland.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team adds competition at kicker
Hopkins will face competition in camp, as Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports that the team signed kicker Andre Szmyt to a contract Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hopkins made 33 of 36 field-goal attempts in an excellent 2023 regular season but fell off badly in 2024, connecting on only 18 of 27 field-goal attempts. If the 34-year-old kicker's struggles continue leading up to the 2025 season, he could lose out on a roster spot to Szmyt.
