2024 Fantasy Outlook
Moss' career seemed to burn out in Buffalo, but once he got to Indianapolis the former Utah standout and 2020 third-round pick started to look more like the player the Bills thought they were drafting. In Moss' 22 games with Indianapolis, he turned 259 carries into 1,159 yards (4.5 YPC), adding 31 receptions for 204 yards and two scores on 42 targets. Injuries have struck Moss in each of his four NFL seasons, and he had knee concerns even when he was at Utah in college, so he might have season-long volume limitations despite his power-back aesthetic. On the other hand, Moss is a three-down back in terms of skill set -- he's comfortable catching passes or blocking -- and doesn't need to rotate out for strategic reasons. It's not clear how much leeway Moss' two-year, $8 million contract might earn him over second-year back Chase Brown, but it seems likely that the Bengals will need to call upon both runners over the course of 2024. Looks secure as lead back
Moss retains his position atop the Bengals' backfield depth chart following the 2024 NFL Draft, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Moss inked with Cincinnati as a free agent back in March, and though the team will certainly add some UDFAs to the mix, he has to be considered a huge winner for fantasy after the Bengals opted not to spend a single draft pick on the running back position. Coming off a breakout season with the Colts, Moss looks primed for a high-volume role considering his experience between the tackles and on third downs, while Chase Brown could act as a more explosive complement out of the backfield. Both could be intriguing fantasy sleepers in 2024 drafts.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Ravens may take notice
Moss, who rushed 30 times for 122 yards and posted a 2-23-1 receiving line against the Ravens in Week 3 of last season, could be a free-agent target for Baltimore, Jamison Hensley of ESPN suggests.
ANALYSIS
Hensley points out the Ravens appear set to head into the new league year with Justice Hill as the only healthy running back under contract, given J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are expected to head elsewhere. He also points out the team's brass and coaching staff tend to take note when an available player has succeeded against them in the past. That's the case with Moss, who finished with a career-high 794 rushing yards and five touchdowns and also posted 27 receptions for 192 yards and another pair of scores for the Colts in 2023.

Moss will compete with rookie fifth-round pick Evan Hull and Deon Jackson for the privilege of backing up Jonathan Taylor this season. Moss entered training camp as the favorite as both the incumbent and the player with greater draft pedigree -- a 2020 third-round pick -- but he's now uncertain for Week 1 after suffering a broken arm at the end of July. Furthermore, Hull is no pushover and has plenty of pass-catching experience after serving as the workhorse at Northwestern. Moss did much better in his eight-game audition with Indianapolis last year than he did in the two prior seasons with Buffalo, playing well in a four-game stint as starter following Taylor's season-ending ankle injury, and it's worth remembering that Moss was probably a better player at Utah than Hull was at Northwestern. That said, Hull is faster and quicker than Moss, which could lead to a co-backup sort of situation.
