Smith was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 Draft but was limited to just seven games in his rookie season after opening the year on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. In those seven contests, he caught seven passes, but four of those, including his lone touchdown, came in Week 18 with starters resting. He's been in a battle with Cooper and Terrace Marshall for a depth spot in the wideout room, and even with Johnny Wilson out for the season due to a knee injury, Smith appears to be on the outside looking in for a place on the 53-man roster. Kubena believes that general manager Howie Roseman should use some of Smith's strong preseason play as a way to trade the 2024 fifth-rounder to a team in need of depth at wide receiver, rather than cutting the second-year wideout.
