2023 Fantasy Outlook
Gray failed to make an impact in his rookie campaign, hauling in just one of his seven targets in 13 appearances. The 2022 third-round pick will have to fight to earn opportunities this season on a San Francisco squad that is stacked at the wide receiver position. Gray possesses raw speed (4.33 40-yard dash) as a prospect, so there's still hope he can develop into a fantasy contributor if he ever carves out a consistent role. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS

Rarely sees field in rookie year
Gray finished his rookie campaign with one reception (seven targets) for 10 yards and one rush for nine yards in the regular season.
ANALYSIS
Gray logged just 85 offensive snaps across 13 active games, failing to crack the regular rotation even in relief of injured starters. Head coach Kyle Shanahan drew up a couple of gadget plays for his third-round wideout, but he didn't trust the rookie in meaningful moments this season. Perhaps Gray sees more usage in his sophomore campaign, but he will have to fight up several spots on the receiver depth chart during training camp to be worth monitoring in fantasy.

Superstars did most of the heavy lifting for the wild-card winners, but there were also some lesser-known heroes like Isaiah Hodgins and Khalil Shakir.

James Cook got more snaps and carries than Devin Singletary even with the Bills playing their starters for the entire game Sunday.

Will DJ Chark or Jameson Williams be the top downfield threat for Detroit's potent offense down the stretch?
2022 Fantasy Outlook
Gray is an interesting prospect out of SMU, bringing a blazing 4.33 40-yard dash time to the table. With a 6-0, 186-pound frame, the 2022 third-round pick could develop into a deep threat for Trey Lance's howitzer of an arm one day, but he may find it hard to carve out a significant role out of the gates.
