Rest-of-Season Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Things have mostly gone as expected for Smith since the Eagles took him 10th overall in 2021, though he started 2023 slow with averages of 54.7 yards and 7.7 YPT over his first seven games. He then averaged 75.9 yards and 11.0 YPT over the next nine games (with a 79 percent catch rate) and exploded for 148 yards in an opening-round playoff loss that A.J. Brown missed with a knee injury. The most discouraging development wasn't Smith's early season pseudo-slump, nor the Eagles' late-season collapse -- it was his target share dropping from 27.0 percent in 2022 down to 22.9 percent in 2023 (active games only). Brown's share went up just a tick (28.6 to 29.8), while the RBs' portion skyrocketed from 12.1 percent to 17.8. Smith nonetheless posted a solid receiving line (81-1.066-7 on 112 targets), fueled by career highs for catch rate (72.3) and YPT (9.5), though in fantasy terms it was a step back from his 95-1,196-7 line in 2022. While history suggests new Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will keep RBs involved in the passing game, Moore's offenses also have tended to be WR-friendly, with highlights including a trio of 100-target receivers for the 2020 Cowboys and Keenan Allen producing a career-high 95.6 yards per game last year in Los Angeles. Even if Smith doesn't rebound to (or surpass) his 2022 production, the combination of age (25), talent and QB familiarity makes him one of the safer picks among players commonly taken in the third/fourth round of fantasy drafts. RANKS
Efficient in overseas victory
Smith brought in seven of his eight targets for 84 yards in Friday's 34-29 win over Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Friday's tilt at Corinthians Arena in Brazil featured multiple strong fantasy scores for both sides after 63 points were put on the board. Smith finished with Philadelphia's fourth-highest score for fantasy purposes after all seven of his receptions failed to cross the goal line. The 25-year-old wideout hasn't eclipsed seven touchdowns in any of his three seasons as a pro, but he has proven to be a reliable target opposite A.J. Brown (5-119-1 on Friday) that fantasy managers can rely on for consistent production, especially for those in PPR formats. Smith will look for that first score of the season in a home matchup against the Falcons in Week 2.

GM Howie Roseman hit the nail on the head when he traded up for the 10th overall pick to take Smith in the 2021 draft. While results have been mixed on slim wideouts with hefty college production in recent years, the 170-pounder out of Alabama has proven himself capable of beating press coverage, making contested catches and even throwing blocks to help Philadelphia's prolific running game. On top of that, Smith finished last year with only eight fewer targets than uber-talented teammate A.J. Brown, with both wideouts cruising past 1,000 yards in an offense led by a dominant offensive line and a breakout star at quarterback in Jalen Hurts. Smith's aDOT dropped from 13.9 as a rookie to 9.6 last year with Brown taking over more of the deep looks, but his YPT held steady at 8.8 thanks to a 69.9 percent catch rate. Smith now enters his third NFL season right in the conversation with Jaylen Waddle and Tee Higgins to be considered the best No. 2 WR in the league.

Set to overtake Brown as WR1?
Smith could outproduce A.J. Brown in 2024, Dan Graziano of ESPN speculates.
ANALYSIS
Smith has reportedly drawn rave reviews throughout his work in training camp, and Graziano reports that the team has noted that Smith has improved at least one part of his game every offseason. Graziano also points to the fact that Smith was signed to an extension before Brown this offseason, potentially signaling the team's priorities. The Eagles offense has high expectations this season under new coordinator Kellen Moore, and both Smith and Brown should be very productive.
