2024 Fantasy Outlook
Lock signed with the Giants in March as the backup to Daniel Jones, who might not be ready for the start of the season after a November ACL injury and hasn’t exactly cemented himself as the Giants’ long-term answer anyway. The door seemingly is cracked for Lock to take the starting job, at least early in the season. That wasn’t the case the last two years in Seattle, where Lock was firmly behind Geno Smith, which partially explains why he bolted for New York. At 6-4, 228, Lock has prototypical size and arm strength, and he was credible in two starts for an injured Smith last season, completing 68.8 percent of his attempts at a 7.5-yard average depth. He won’t have as much help in New York, with Malik Nabers, the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, leading an otherwise mediocre group of skill-position players that had Saquon Barkley replaced by Devin Singletary this offseason. Suiting up Sunday
Lock (abdomen) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's Week 1 game against the Vikings, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lock has been dealing with this abdomen issue for about a month, but it appears the injury won't stop him from suiting up for the Giants' regular-season opener Sunday. In his first campaign with New York, the 2019 second-round pick is expected to serve as the Giants' backup quarterback behind Daniel Jones.

Lock lost an open quarterback competition to Geno Smith before last season, and Smith played his way into a three-year, $105 million contract. Nevertheless, Lock accepted a one-year, $4 million deal to be the backup in Seattle in 2023. He's only 26 years old and is a fine backup with a career 6.7 yards per attempt and 25:20 TD:INT, but he'll be hard-pressed to find a starting job unless he can prove himself further. If he manages to get playing time in Seattle, however, he's set up well for success with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba at wide receiver.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Will miss time with injuries
Lock is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks with the hip and oblique injuries he suffered in Thursday night's preseason opener against the Lions, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lock started Thursday's game and completed four of 10 passes for 17 yards with an interception before getting hurt on a late first-quarter hit where he went to the ground. The veteran signal-caller was eventually diagnosed with a hip pointer and an oblique strain, and he's expected to miss at least two weeks, if not more. Tommy DeVito, who led two touchdown drives Thursday after his entry into the contest, temporarily moves into the No. 2 role behind Daniel Jones.
