The conversion rate is inflated by a lack of long attempts -- 11-of-14 from 50-plus yards, with 126 career field-goal attempts overall -- and hasn't translated to success on PATs (92.1 percent), which may help explain why he's a free agent after kicking for Carolina the past three seasons. The 30-year-old kicker has started since Week 2 after the 49ers cut Jake Moody, and Pineiro has made all 19 of his field-goal attempts and all but one of his 15 extra-point tries across seven regular-season games.

Pineiro made 90.6 percent of his field-goal attempts and 90.4 percent of PATs over the past two seasons in Carolina, rebounding nicely after bouncing around the league from 2019 to 2021. He missed the final two games of 2023 with a hamstring injury and finished 27th among kickers in fantasy points, attempting just 20 PATs all year (and missing three). Pineiro should keep the job in 2024, but any chance at relevance requires a massive step forward for the Carolina offense in Year 2 with Bryce Young at quarterback and Year 1 of Dave Canales' coaching tenure.
