2026 Fantasy Outlook
Brissett started the final 12 games last season for an injured Kyler Murray and likely will start this season after Murray left in free agency. Despite limited action, Brissett finished 14th in both passing yards (3,366) and TD passes (23), buoyed by an offense that repeatedly provided huge volume in comeback mode. Brissett attempted a league-high 40.3 passes per start, a 17-game pace that would equal the sixth-most attempts in NFL history (686). New Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur, the former Rams offensive coordinator, surely will strive for more balance this season, especially now that the run game is getting a potential facelift from third overall pick Jeremiyah Love and free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier. The receiving corps is less impressive, with tight end Trey McBride the lone star, though WR Michael Wilson put up big numbers late last season, and the Cardinals still hope for a breakthrough from WR Marvin Harrison. Brissett is absent from voluntary spring workouts due to displeasure with his contract, but there's no guarantee the Cardinals will budge when they haven't even named him as the starter over third-round pick Carson Beck and free-agent addition Gardner Minshew. Even if he does get resume practicing soon and locks down the starting job, Brissett won’t offer nearly the upside last season’s numbers might suggest. Read Past Outlooks

Still absent, but dialogue ongoing
Brissett remains absent from the Cardinals' offseason program, but coach Mike LaFleur said Friday that the veteran quarterback has "played a lot of football, and we're in communication," Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. "He knows what the expectation is," LaFleur added.
ANALYSIS
In the wake of Arizona releasing Kyler Murray and then signing only Gardner Minshew in free agency, Brissett wasn't given an assurances that he'd be the team's starting signal-caller in 2026, per Weinfuss. Brissett thus has stayed away from the early stages of the offseason program as he seeks a raise to starter-level money, as his current contract includes just $1.5 million in guarantees, while Minshew's deal ensures $5.14 million this season. Brissett went only 1-11 as the Cardinals' starting QB in 2025, but he took advantage of high volume in those contests, completing 315 of 484 passes (65.1 percent) for 3,366 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The team added Carson Beck in the third round of this year's draft, but according to Weinfuss's report Friday, Brissett has been informed by the Cards that he's the starter for 2026.

A 2016 third-round pick of the Patriots, Brissett is on his sixth team in the last six seasons, backing up Kyler Murray in Arizona. In eight appearances (five starts) with the Patriots in 2024, he again avoided throwing interceptions (one) but was sacked 18 times with a paltry 5.1 YPA. He eventually was replaced by rookie Drake Maye. Even if Brissett earns spot starts this year, he likely won't be more than a low-end option in two-QB formats. And the Cardinals don't have a lot of offensive weapons, outside of Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team rolling on without him
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said Friday the team's offense continues to be installed on schedule despite Brissett's absence from voluntary workouts, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran signal-caller, who was impressive as Kyler Murray's fill-in last season while starting the final 12 games of the 2025 campaign, completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 3,366 yards with 23 touchdowns versus eight interceptions while adding 166 yards and an additional score on 37 carries in that span. Brissett is holding out for a restructured contract commensurate with his expected starting role to open the 2026 campaign, and LaFleur indicated he wasn't concerned with the 11-year pro's absence since workouts are voluntary, and Brissett has an abundance of experience.
