2025 Fantasy Outlook
A rookie seventh-round pick, Croskey-Merritt was expected to compete with Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols for the No. 3 RB job in Washington but may now have a shot at something bigger. The team traded Brian Robinson on Aug. 22, moving forward with Austin Ekeler, Croskey-Merritt, Rodriguez and McNichols in the backfield. Eligibility issues limited Croskey-Merritt to one game at Arizona last year, but he ran for 1,190 yards and 17 touchdowns at New Mexico the year before, and he posted a 4.45 40-yard dash at his pro day this spring. He caught just seven passes in 2023, however, and he enters the NFL as a 24-year-old rookie. If nothing else, the opportunity in Washington is an excellent one, allowing Croskey-Merritt to get his foot in the door immediately. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Little with nine touches Monday
Croskey-Merritt rushed nine times for 25 yards and failed to bring in his only target in the Commanders' 28-7 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Croskey-Merritt was held under 3.0 yards per carry for the second consecutive game in what was a second straight lopsided loss for the Commanders. The rookie back outpaced backfield mates Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols by eight carries each, but McNichols was much more involved in the passing game while recording a team-high five catches and 64 yards while also logging a co-team-high six targets. Meanwhile, Croskey-Merritt continued to be an afterthought in the passing game, a trend that conspires to limit his fantasy value when rushing opportunities and/or running room is at a premium. The outlook doesn't get any rosier Week 9, as the Commanders welcome a tough Seahawks defense to town for a Sunday night showdown.

Trending up for Week 4?
Croskey-Merritt is listed as questionable for Sunday's Week 4 game against the Falcons due to a knee injury, but he was a full participant in Friday's practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Croskey-Merritt's prospects weren't very bright over the first two days of the practice week, as he was a non-participant both Wednesday and Thursday. However, the rookie back had a good practice Friday according to head coach Dan Quinn, who also said Croskey-Merritt was "working incredibly hard round the clock to get back" but still needed final clearance from doctors.
