2023 Fantasy Outlook
Washington will look to revive his career heading into his age-27 campaign. The 2018 second-round pick was signed by the Saints late in free agency after his production bottomed out in 2022, as he sustained a broken foot in training camp with Dallas and failed to log a catch in two appearances late in the regular season. Washington previously looked like a rising commodity when he averaged 16.7 YPC on 44 receptions with Pittsburgh in 2019. While his past production provides some optimism for upside, the 5-11 Washington likely will vie for a reserve role behind Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Rashid Shaheed for New Orleans in 2023. ANALYSIS
Washington, a 2018 second-round pick, joined Indianapolis less than two weeks ago and will now have to look for yet another opportunity. The 27-year-old wideout failed to secure his only target across two games with the Cowboys last season.

Fantasy managers received some clarity on a few key quarterback rooms Friday, headlining the news that Dan Marcus covers for the day.

After two years of uneven quarterback play, the Saints are banking on Derek Carr to right the ship on offense. He'll have plenty of talent to work with, namely RB Alvin Kamara and WR Chris Olave, among others.

Washington fell out of favor in his last two seasons in Pittsburgh, getting passed up by Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, and the 26-year-old will look to re-establish himself in Dallas. Washington is a sturdy, physical receiver who isn't much of a downfield threat, but that's a profile that fits well with the Cowboys' scheme and with Dak Prescott's skill set. Signed to a bargain one-year deal in the offseason, Washington found a nice opportunity to compete for a starting job, only to suffer a broken foot during training camp. With an estimated recovery timeline of 6-10 weeks after the injury in early August, he's all but guaranteed to miss the start of the season -- likely multiple games.
