Krull was unable to beat Dallen Bentley for the fourth tight end spot on the Broncos' 53-man roster, resulting in the former being released Sunday. Krull will stay in Denver on the practice squad and would be a candidate for elevation to the active roster if the Broncos needed game-day depth at tight end. Krull was limited to three regular-season games last year due to a foot injury, finishing with two catches (on four targets) for 15 yards while also contributing on special teams.

Krull failed to stand out in Denver’s unimpressive tight end room last season, securing 19 of 23 targets for 152 yards. He had only eight catches in the preceding campaign, during which Krull also scored his lone NFL touchdown to date. Offseason addition Evan Engram is expected to get the majority of pass catching opportunities at the position for the Broncos, and Adam Trautman will likely continue to work ahead of Krull due to Trautman’s dependable blocking, so the 27-year-old Krull doesn’t have a clear path to fantasy relevance in 2025.
