Rest-of-Season Projections
Released by the Falcons in August of 2026.
Let go by Falcons
Atlanta cut Andersen (knee) on Friday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Andersen sat out the entire 2025 campaign as he worked to recover from a knee injury he suffered back in 2024, and he started training camp on the PUP list in 2026. He'll now become a free agent and be eligible to suit up for another club when capable.

2022
After putting together a productive rookie campaign, Andersen's career has been derailed by a pectoral tear and a knee sprain. The 2022 second-round pick has appeared in only nine games the last two seasons. However, despite playing only 26 games in three seasons, Andersen has four 10-tackle outings and a pick-six in his career. While he still has immense playmaking upside and is expected to be healthy heading into training camp, Andersen might be a rotational option after Atlanta replaced Nate Landman with Divine Deablo this offseason.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set to pop in rookie season?
Gene Clemons of The Athletic thinks Andersen will be able to make big strides as an inside linebacker during his rookie season with Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Andersen spent just one season playing exclusively at inside linebacker during his collegiate career with Montana State, where he also split time starting at both quarterback and running back. The 2022 second-round pick was seen as one of the most athletic players at his position in this year's draft class and is expected to eventually contribute as a three-down linebacker as he grows into this full-time role. His 4.42-second 40-yard dash time is also reminiscent of fellow Falcons linebacker Deion Jones, who underwent offseason shoulder surgery and could be either traded or released by the team, possibly allowing Andersen to step into a bigger role sooner rather than later.
