2023 Fantasy Outlook
Jones' greatest value to the Bears in his rookie 2022 season was as a kick returner. On offense, he actually had more rushing attempts (nine) than receptions (seven), with seven of those touches coming in the last four games of the campaign. Despite the uptick in late-season usage, he'll be competing for a depth role on offense this fall with Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis and Tyler Scott, while likely retaining his role on special teams on game days. RANKS

Usage increases late in season
Jones rushed for a 42-yard touchdown in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with seven receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown along with nine carries for 103 yards and another touchdown over 12 games played.
ANALYSIS
Jones was at his best as a kick returner during his rookie season. On offense, he didn't have more than two touches in any game, though he did play more than 15 offensive snaps for the first time all season during Weeks 15 and 16, when he averaged 34 snaps. Although he'll likely remain the team's top kick returner next year, he may also see his role in the offense expand. He's under contract through 2025.

Rashee Rice isn't the only Chiefs wide receiver moving up draft boards this May. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are slipping with WRs becoming more popular in the early rounds.

Is it too early to look ahead to the 2024 NFL Draft? Maybe, but that won't stop me from putting together a 2024 first round mock draft.

James Cook got more snaps and carries than Devin Singletary even with the Bills playing their starters for the entire game Sunday.
2022 Fantasy Outlook
Jones didn't break out until his fifth year of college as a 24-year-old. That late college production presents some red flags as he embarks on his NFL career, as he'll no longer have the athletic advantage he had over his peers in college. But Chicago wanted to infuse speed into their offense, and with a 4.31 time in the 40-yard dash, Jones could profile as a deep threat right away. Although there's potential for him to be a starting receiver Week 1, he should be considered a boom-or-bust option as a rookie.
