2022 Fantasy Outlook
After being targeted just once over his first two professional seasons, Gentry carved out a slightly larger role in the Steelers offense after Eric Ebron went down last year. Gentry appeared in all 17 games and secured 19 of 25 targets for 167 yards. While the 2019 fifth-rounder still served mainly as a blocking tight end, he'll likely have the chance to serve as the No. 2 option behind Pat Freiermuth in 2022 since Ebron isn't expected to return to the team. It was encouraging to see Gentry draw some targets last year, but he's unlikely to be a consistent fantasy option as long as Freiermuth remains healthy. Read Past Outlooks

Staying in Pittsburgh
Gentry is set to re-sign with the Steelers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Gentry has been with the Steelers for his first four years in the NFL, but he did not start playing a bigger role until 2021. He has played all 34 games over the previous two years. In that span he accumulated 299 yards on 38 receptions. He projects to back up Pat Freiermuth in 2023.

Jerry Donabedian takes a look back at some of 2022's standouts and gives his early 2023 fantasy rankings for tight ends.

James Cook got more snaps and carries than Devin Singletary even with the Bills playing their starters for the entire game Sunday.

Jerry Donabedian thinks the Saints are set at wide receiver for the next half decade with Rashid Shaheed joining Chris Olave to give them a pair of rookie standouts.

Late-season AFC North games can be low-scoring, and Sunday night's game should feature plenty of defense too.

Gentry didn't see the field during the first half of the 2020 campaign and suffered a knee injury in Week 11 that kept him out for the rest of the year. He's been targeted just once in six career games and will slot in behind Eric Ebron and rookie Pat Freiermuth in 2021.
