Tournament Preview

The European Tour is in Paris this week for Amundi Open de France at Le Golf National. The course is an inland links style, undulating track with water lurking on the majority of holes.  Accuracy will be the most important factor this week — off the tee and with approach shots. Many of the greens are protected by large bodies of water.  Accurate, in-form golfers are the target.

DraftKings Picks

Jordan Smith - $10,000 (22/1)

Smith finished solo 24th last week in Italy.  He's had five top-10s this season and has made the cut both times he has played this event. He has the accuracy we are looking for, ranking 21st in driving accuracy and 12th in SG: approach.  Smith is first on tour in greens in regulation. He is good around the greens as well. His putter occasionally lets him down, but hopefully this week it will heat up.  Joost Luiten would be a fine play also at the top, for $200 more.

Aaron Rai - $8,400 (45/1)

Last year Rai missed the cut at Le Golf National, shooting 80 on the first day.  He arrives this year with more consistency, making six cuts in his last seven starts.  Rai finished T18 last week in Italy. He hits more than 71 percent of fairways off the tee, making him one of the most accurate on tour.  He is ranked fifth on tour in greens in regulation. Should he get out of position, he is great at scrambling.

Jason Scrivener - $7,700 (66/1)

Scrivener has mixed results at Le Golf National.  He has made two cuts in four starts, his highest finish T33 in 2015.  He has had a good season with five top-10s. Scrivener was T55 last week in Italy, but was T7 the week prior in Spain.  He is great with his irons, ranking fifth in SG: approach. Scrivener is better than average off the tee, hitting over 62 percent of fairways this season.

Ashley Chesters - $7,500 (80/1)

Chesters had a nice September with three T21s or better.  His highest finish being T9, at Porsche European Open. Last week he was T66 in Rome, and this week seems like a good spot for him.  He was T21 last year at Le Golf National. Chesters is one of the best off the tee, ranking third in driving accuracy. He is ranked 21st in greens in regulation on tour and 119th in SG: scrambling.
