How Day Did It
Check out the winner's statistics (above) at last year's Byron Nelson Championship.
The putter certainly won the trophy for Jason Day, who staggered in with four birdies and six bogeys in his 2-over par closing round. His round-by-round scores: 66-65-67-72, 10-under on the par-70.
His putting-per-GIR: 1.538-1.692-1.500-1.667 for a 1.605 average.
Picking the Byron Nelson
In making your Byron Nelson player selections, the par-70 track requires a high GIR figure, high birdie count and strong performance at the par 4s. Look for golfers doing well in these stats and scoring well recently.
