Slows down to finish T15 at JCB
July 26, 2026
Uihlein posted an eight-under cumulative score at LIV Golf United Kingdom to finish tied with Ian Poulter for 15th.
ANALYSIS
Uihlein carded a five-under 67 in the second round to enter the weekend eight-under, but he was unable to gain a stroke over the final 36 holes at JCB Golf & Country Club, though he did well to finish Sunday with an even-par 72 after carding four bogeys from holes six to 10. It's been a difficult 2026 season for Uihlein, who opened the year with a solo third at LIV Golf Riyadh and T3 two weeks later in Adelaide before finishing 30th or worse in each of his next seven LIV Golf outings, though he did finish T56 at the U.S. Open and T65 last week at The Open Championship. Uihlein will tee off at LIV Golf New York in two weeks.

Uihlein has failed to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs in three straight seasons, but he'll have another chance in 2021-22 after retaining status via the Korn Ferry Tour Finals where he posted three results of T48 or better. The former Oklahoma State standout is now in his early 30s and owns just one career top-3 result through 111 total events played. Uihlein did win the KFT's MGM Resorts Championship in 2021, however.
Uihlein is now 30, and the promise of a few years ago clearly is not coming. His earnings have gone significantly downward the past three seasons. He might see a little boost this season only because last season was so bad.
Uihlein's first season as a PGA Tour member in 2017-18 was very solid, finishing 64th in the FedExCup standings and gaining nearly $1.8 million. 2018-19 was a different story, as he made just 14-of-29 cuts and two top-10's. The putter was pretty solid last year, but he needs to become a more consistent ball striker if he wants to be able to compete more regularly. Uihlein is a boom-or-bust selection in salary cap formats.
Uihlein is the rare European who decided to play full time on the PGA Tour and actually succeeded - except he's not a European. Uihlein was a member of the European Tour prior to his first year on the PGA Tour, but he's American. It's actually an important distinction because it gives us a better idea of how many events he'll play. Most first-year players that come from the European Tour will split their time between tours and play somewhere around the minimum of 15 events, but Uihlein played 26 times last season. The number of events plays a huge part in projection his earnings for this season because as long as he keeps a similar schedule to last season, it's fair to expect a similar, if not better output that last season. With a full year on the PGA Tour under his belt, expect Uihlein to show a significant improvement this season.
A solid player on the European Tour since 2013, Uihlein made the most of his opportunity to play in the Web.com Tour Finals by winning the first leg, the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. His $180,000 in earnings from the victory sealed his full-time spot on the PGA Tour, where he notched three top-25s in just seven events last season. The promising talent has plenty of length off the tee and a good putter, so there's potential to shine given a full schedule. Uihlein is worth a pick in the 11th or 12th round of draft leagues and perhaps a higher-risk option worth taking in salary cap leagues.
