Wins Omega European Masters
Lawrence defeated Paul Casey on the fourth playoff hole to capture the Omega European Masters on the DP World Tour.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was 13-under through the first two rounds in Switzerland, but it looked like his tournament hopes were sunk by a three-over 73 third round. However, the 29-year-old South African found his form again Sunday, finishing with a bogey-free, eight-under 62 to end the tournament with an 18-under cumulative score, which was enough for him to force a playoff after Casey posted a bogey on the par-4 18th. The duo carded pars on each of the first three playoff holes before Lawrence pulled away on the fourth attempt by sinking a 24-foot birdie putt for his third career victory at the European Masters and sixth win on the DP World Tour. The victory jettisoned Lawrence 86 spots to 21st in the Race to Dubai Rankings and within striking distance of earning a PGA Tour membership for 2027. He'll tee off next week at the Amgen Irish Open.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Lawrence really introduced himself to the world with his play at the Open Championship. The South African was in the mix all weekend at Royal Troon and showed that he has a lot of game. Lawrence will now get the chance to play full-time on the PGA Tour after a tremendous season on the DP World Tour in 2024 where he racked up 11 top-12 finishes. Lawrence is a solid player across the board, but in paticular on the greens. Last season he ranked second in SG: Putting and ninth in putts per GIR. Apart from his solo fourth at the Open, Lawrence played in five PGA Tour events but only made the cut in one of them, so there is a bit of reason for concern on how his game will translate.
