FantasyAces NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FantasyAces NHL series.

While the NHL powers that be speak of parity in the league, there are a couple of apparent mismatches on the schedule Tuesday that are hard to ignore. First, the Dallas Stars (12-3) are at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs (2-8-4).

Yes, I know the Leafs beat the Stars 4-1 at home last week, but they were also outshot by a 44-26 margin, with James Reimer standing on his head in order for Toronto to get that win. It's highly unlikely that scenario will repeat. To make matters worse for the Leafs, the high-flying Stars have paid more attention to defense of late, allowing a total of two goals in their last two games.

The second such game features the New York Rangers (10-2-2) hosting the Carolina Hurricanes (6-8). With the defensive prowess of the home side facing an offensively challenged visitor, this game screams for an easy goalie win for New York's Henrik Lundqvist.

Here are my recommendations for games on November 10, 2015:

C: Henrik Sedin, VAN at CLM ($4,750): Sedin is once again positioned as a catalyst on the Canucks' power play, and that unit gets a favorable matchup against a physical Columbus club that will find penalty trouble and features one of the league's worst penalty-killing units.

C: Adam Henrique, NJD vs. STL ($4,650): – Henrique is centering the Devils' top scoring line, which has been responsible for 15 of the club's 35 goals through 14 games this year. He's

C: Adam Henrique, NJD vs. STL ($4,650): – Henrique is centering the Devils' top scoring line, which has been responsible for 15 of the club's 35 goals through 14 games this year. He's also a fixture on their power play; as such, he should get some good looks in Tuesday's game versus the Blues. This may be a low price for a player with Henrique's current profile.

W: Joel Ward, SJ vs. NYI ($4,600): Ward has found his offensive groove early in his first season with the Sharks. He's a fixture on their second line and playing more than two minutes per game on their power play. His confidence is soaring right now, as he has a 30.4 percent shooting percentage, with seven goals on 23 shots.

W: Patrick Sharp, DAL vs. TOR ($5,150): The fleet winger has found a new home on the Stars' first line, filling out one of the league's most potent units along with the prolific duo of Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. They should be motivated to avenge a recent loss against the lowly Leafs.

W: Daniel Sedin, VAN at CLM ($5,200): – I'm looking for the twins to have a breakout night against a Jackets team that's off to a poor start. In addition, I will add the fact that they could be extra motivated to put up big numbers against their old coach, John Tortorella, who was not able to get along with them or get the most out of them during his disastrous season in Vancouver.

W: Milan Lucic, LA vs. ARI ($4,800): – The Kings have been relying on the line of Lucic, Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli for much of their offense early this season. On Tuesday the Kings host the Coyotes who are on the second of back-to-back road games. The size of this Kings line could be trouble for a potentially weary and physically overmatched Coyotes defense corps, which should mean a big night for Lucic.

D: Colton Parayko, STL at NJD ($4,600): – Parayko has been a revelation among the already-talented Blues rearguard, collecting five goals, five assists and a plus-8 rating to lead that group through the first 14 games of his NHL career. He and the Blues may benefit from a talent mismatch against the Devils on Tuesday.

D: Morgan Rielly, TOR at DAL ($3,500): – The young defender has been the best Maple Leaf through the early going and will play big minutes Tuesday. That may put him in position to counterpunch against the Stars top line. This trio is focused on offense first and may be prone to a quick opposing strike, which is most likely to begin with a play by Rielly.

G: Ben Bishop, TB vs. BUF ($7,650): Bishop comes into this game on a personal five-game losing streak, although he has only given up eight goals in that span. The trouble with that is the fact that the Bolts have only given him three goals of support in that stretch. He does have a pair of wins, allowing a total of two goals, in previous matchups with Buffalo this season.
