Analyzing NHL Pick'Em Plays with Top Player Prop Value
Anthony Stolarz Over 27.5 Saves vs. Utah Mammoth - 7:00 p.m. ET
The Mammoth are off to a strong start to the season, currently sitting third in the Central Division, in part due to their shot volume. The club sits sixth in the league in shots per game at 29.8, so Stolarz should see plenty of work along the way. You can play it safe with the Goblin play (24.5), or go even further to 28.5 or 29.5, but I like the standard Demon play here.
Morgan Frost Over 0.5 Power-Play Points vs. Columbus Blue Jackets - 9:30 p.m. ET
At just 66.7 percent, the Jackets have the second-worst penalty kill in the NHL this year, so really, you could back anybody RotoWire has listed on the No. 1 power-play unit for the Flames, but for my part, I'm going to roll with Frost. He has cooled a bit following a four-game point streak to end October, but he did rack up four shots in his last game. He seems primed for a point in this one against the woeful Columbus PK.
Philipp Kurashev Over 2.5 Shots at Seattle Kraken - 10:00 p.m. ET
Over his last four games, Kurashev has been on an absolute tear, racking up four goals, three assists and 15 shots. With Adam Gaudette (upper body) sidelined over that same stretch, the youngster Kurashev has benefited from a shift to a top-six role and looks set to stay in that spot even if Gaudette returns tonight. Bonus for this being a Demon play, I'd probably still have taken it at standard payout.
