Luostarinen plays a physical game while periodically chipping in offensively, as he showed in 2024-25 by recording nine goals, 24 points, 28 PIM and 183 hits across 80 regular-season outings with Florida. He stepped up in the Stanley Cup Finals with a goal and six points over the final five games of the series, which is a nice line on his resume, but it’s important not to overstate what that means to his fantasy value. He’s likely to continue to serve primarily on the third line and receive little power-play time, which puts a cap on his overall offensive production. As one of the Panthers' few regulars who hasn't joined the walking wounded, Luostarinen has been occupying a top-line role. He opened the scoring just 23 seconds into the game before assisting on goals by Mackie Samoskevich and A.J. Greer in the third period. Luostarinen has five points over his last three contests, giving him 11 goals, 32 points, 106 shots on net, 120 hits, 57 blocked shots, 32 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 71 outings. Assuming the Panthers don't have lingering long-term issues for 2026-27, Luostarinen will likely revert to a defensively inclined middle-six role next season.

Luostarinen was unable to replicate his 43-point effort from 2022-23, falling back to 27 points in 2023-24 while playing in all 82 regular-season games for the second year in a row. The Finnish forward benefits from playing on a high-scoring team, as his third-line role for most other squads wouldn't lead to fantasy relevance. The downside to Luostarinen's role with the Panthers is that he rarely sees power-play time, making his scoring production prone to volatility from year to year. He should push for 30 points in 2024-25, and he should supplement his scoring with 100-plus hits and a positive plus-minus rating. He doesn't need to be drafted in all formats, but Luostarinen is a name to watch for in-season moves in fantasy.
