2026 Fantasy Outlook
Martin made just six appearances with the Rangers in 2025-26, going 1-3-0 with a 4.12 GAA and an .864 save percentage. The veteran netminder is under contract for 2026-27, but he'll likely again be the Rangers' third goalie while Dylan Garand gets a chance as the backup to Igor Shesterkin. In the AHL last year, Martin went 3-13-6 with a 3.51 GAA and an .873 save percentage. Even if Martin is able to work his way onto the NHL roster, his recent performances at hockey's highest level are not encouraging when it comes to fantasy. Read Past Outlooks
Shuts out Bridgeport
Martin posted a 22-save shutout in AHL Hartford's 6-0 win over Bridgeport on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Martin is now 3-6-2 on the year at the AHL level, though two of those wins have come via shutout. He's added a 3.23 GAA and an .889 save percentage in 12 games for the Wolf Pack. Martin will likely remain with Hartford unless Igor Shesterkin or Jonathan Quick gets sidelined.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Martin registered a 3-8-1 record with a 3.65 GAA and a .887 save percentage in 13 appearances for Columbus before being claimed off waivers by Carolina. As a member of the Hurricanes, he went 4-1-1 with a 2.63 GAA and a .896 save percentage. The organization promptly signed Martin to a one-year contract extension in March. Carolina desperately needed goaltending depth because of Frederik Andersen's blood clotting issue. In fact, Andersen has been limited to 50 appearances over the past two seasons, and more absences would lead to more opportunities for Martin and Pyotr Kochetkov in 2024-25. The 29-year-old Martin could be a solid waiver option, but he is firmly entrenched in the No. 3 spot on the goaltending depth chart going into the upcoming campaign.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Moving on from Carolina
Martin will pursue a new opportunity, closing the door on his return to the Hurricanes, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Martin's exit from the Hurricanes was already expected after the team acquired Cayden Primeau from the Canadiens. There are some teams that need goaltending depth, so Martin should be able to find an NHL deal for 2025-26 despite his 3.89 GAA and .846 save percentage over nine games behind a good team last year.
