Dream11 Fantasy KBO: Wiz at Twins

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy KBO series.

KT Wiz (48-41-1) at LG Twins (53-40-1)

Friday, August 28th, 5:30 AM EDT

Projected Starters

RHP Hyeong Jun So (8-5, 4.46 ERA) vs RHP Tyler Wilson (8-6, 3.82 ERA)

Game Preview

The Twins and the Wiz are two of the teams looking to sneak into the playoffs and, by the looks of it, this contest will be a thrilling matchup that could easily go down to the wire. The Twins are in third place, but the Wiz are fifth and sit just three games behind them in the standings, so this weekend seems to be pivotal for both franchises. The pitching matchup will also feature two quality arms, as Hyeong Jun So will get the nod for the Wiz and Tyler Wilson will grab the ball for the Twins. Wilson has a stronger track record and has pitched better this season, but it seems as if both teams are very even on both pitching and hitting.

KT Wiz

Dae Eun Lee - Out - Side

7/3 1:30 AM IST - Lee (side) threw a 45-pitch simulated game Thursday, Taewoo Kim of SpoTVNews.co.kr reports. Lee experienced no side discomfort during the throwing session, so he's expected to join the Wiz's Futures League affiliate as soon as Sunday to begin a rehab assignment. The right-handed reliever has not pitched for the Wiz since May 19 due to the injury, so he may need an appearance or two in the Futures League before rejoining the big club. Once he's activated, Lee could be

The right-handed reliever has not pitched for the Wiz since May 19 due to the injury, so he may need an appearance or two in the Futures League before rejoining the big club. Once he's activated, Lee could be a candidate to close for the Wiz with Jae Yoon Kim (6.05 ERA, 1.71 WHIP in 19.1 innings) having struggled in that role so far this season.

Woo Jun Sim - Day-To-Day - Arm

8/27 10:13 PM IST - Sim left Thursday's game against the Twins after being hit by a pitch on the right arm, according to chosun.com. Sim does not appear to be dealing with a serious injury, but he will undergo tests Friday to determine whether or not he will miss more time.

LG Twins

Woo Chan Cha - 10-Day IL - Shoulder

7/25 3:32 PM IST - Cha will miss 3-to-4 weeks with pain in his left shoulder, according to chosun.com. The southpaw is scheduled for another examination Monday after LG put him on the injured list Saturday. Cha threw seven scoreless innings in his first start post-demotion, but he will now not return to action until some point in August.

Eun Sung Chae - 10-Day IL - Side

8/27 2:29 PM IST - Chae will sit out 2-to-3 weeks due to a ruptured right side, per SPOTV News. The Twins outfielder tore one of his sides after an awry swing Wednesday against Samsung. LG will likely start Yong Taik Park at DH and Hyung Jong Lee in right field until Chae is fully healthy.

Min Sung Kim - 10-Day IL - Side

8/19 3:59 PM IST - Kim was placed on the injured list Wednesday with side pain, according to OSEN. The 31-year-old reportedly suffered the injury following a swing attempt during his final plate appearance Tuesday. Kim will enter the injured list again after previously missing five weeks due to thigh pain.

Chun Woong Lee - Out - Hand

7/18 1:50 PM IST - Lee will miss 3-4 weeks with a fracture in his left hand, Won Chul Shin of SPOTV reports. The 31-year-old exited Friday's game at Seoul early after receiving one accidental pitch to the palm during an at-bat. The injury turned out worse than envisioned, as Lee will miss a few weeks recuperating from his fracture. Chang Gi Hong looks to receive more starts in the outfield until further notice.

Sang Gyu Lee - Out - Not Injury Related

7/11 10:45 PM IST - Lee was removed from the Twins' roster Saturday, according to hankooki.com. Lee was brilliant to open the season, posting a 1.35 ERA and recording four saves over his first 13 appearances, but he has struggled mightily of late, allowing 13 earned runs in 7.2 innings over his last eight outings. As a result, the Twins decided to send him down to iron some things out.

Min Ho Lee - Out - Not Injury Related

8/27 9:34 PM IST - Lee was removed from the Twins' roster Thursday, according to Su Jin Park of Star News. This move comes as no surprise, as Lee has regularly been sent down between starts this season. He should rejoin LG's first team at some point in the first half of September.

Top Picks From Each Team

Mel Rojas, Wiz: Rojas seems to be the biggest favorite for the KBO MVP Award this season, and the numbers back him up. Rojas might have gone hitless in his previous game and could be hitting a meager .226 this month, but he still owns an excellent .350/.408/.689 slash line with 31 homers, 84 RBI and a 1.097 OPS in the season.

Hyun Soo Kim, Twins: Kim hasn't received a lot of attention due to Eun Sung Chae's impressive form over the last few weeks, but the veteran slugger continues to be an excellent offensive threat on any given day. He is hitting .361 with a 1.057 OPS and six homers, as well as 19 RBI, in 22 games this month.
