Statement win over Thiago Moises
LightweightUFC
May 17, 2025
Gordon defeated Thiago Moises via KO (punches) at 3:37 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
On the sidelines for about 11 months following a controversial split decision loss to Nasrat Haqparast last June, Gordon returned to the octagon here in overwhelming fashion. He showed off all aspects of his game, landing an early takedown before eventually blasting Moises into another galaxy with a beautiful right hand. Gordon should have a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus coming his way, and he deserves it. Jared will be 37 years of age in September. That, combined with the fact he absorbed zero damage in this fight should result in him getting back in there sooner rather than later.

Gordon will not fight Mashrabjon Ruziboev at UFC Vegas 102 on Saturday, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Dorff's wording indicates that Ruziboev withdrew from the fight. With only one day before UFC Vegas 102, there is not enough time for the promotion to find a replacement opponent for Gordon. This has to sting for him, especially because the news was announced after he made weight for Saturday.

Gordon will take on Kaue Fernandes in a lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 102 on Feb. 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Gordon is coming off a tough loss via split decision in which he may have deserved a different outcome, losing to Nasrat Haqparast back in June. He'll look to bounce back against a much less experienced fighter in Fernandes, who has competed in just two UFC bouts to Gordon's 14. Fernandes is coming off a win over Mohammad Yahya back in August.
Gets no help from judges in defeat

Gordon lost to Nasrat Haqparast via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
ANALYSIS
It was a wild, back-and-forth affair in which Gordon may have very well deserved a better fate. Jared was hopelessly outclassed in terms of technical striking, but he did a brilliant job of turning this fight into a brawl, and that allowed him to nearly steal the win. Gordon turned the tide in Round 2 after a poor opening frame. He limited Hasparast's space and connected with the better blows. The third and deciding frame was a coin flip. Set to turn 36 years of age this coming September, Gordon is a .500 fighter at this stage of his career.
