Facing Renato Moicano in March
January 16, 2020
Hadzovic will take on Renato Moicano in a lightweight matchup at UFC Brasilia on March 14, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
Hadzovic is coming off a loss to Christian Giagos via unanimous decision in June that ended a two-fight winning streak as Hadzovic allowed Giagos to land takedowns at will. Moicano is coming off back-to-back losses, most recently losing to Chan Sung Jung via TKO (punches) at UFC Greenville in June. Moicano displayed his powerful striking skills against Jung but failed to prevent Jung's counter strikes. Hadzovic has a slight advantage in height, while Moicano carries a reach advantage.

Cedes too much ground in loss
June 1, 2019
Hadzovic lost to Christian Giagos via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 153 in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday.
Hadzovic has shown himself to be a powerful striker in the past but just allowed his opponent to dictate terms a bit too much in this one, resulting in the "The Spartan" getting off first and landing takedowns at will. Hadzovic can be a force in The Octagon when he can get his game going but he will need to find a way to deal with fighters who push the pace if he wants to have sustained success. He falls to 13-5 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Outsmarts opponent with wrestling
February 23, 2019
Hadzovic defeated Marco Polo Reyes via TKO (punches) at 2:03 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 145 in Prague, Czech Republic on Saturday.
Hadzovic appeared to be struggling with the volume and ferocity of Reyes early on but surprised the Mexican fighter by shooting reactive takedowns in an effort to relieve the pressure. The strategy paid serious dividends in Round 2, as Hadzovic was able to flatten his opponent out and land vicious ground and pound before the ref stopped the bout. We have seen Hadzovic add tools to his game in recent fights, and he will only become more formidable if he is able to mix wrestling in with his heavy-handed striking on a consistent basis. Hadzovic improves to 13-4 in professional MMA as a result of the victory,
Added to Prague card
January 24, 2019
Hadzovic will take on Marco Polo Reyes in a lightweight matchup at UFC Prague on Feb. 23.
Hadzovic has alternated wins and losses since joining the UFC in 2016, most recently picking up a split decision over Nick Hein this past July. He has a negative striking differential (significant strikes landed minus significant strikes absorbed) during his four-fight UFC run, and has yet to record a takedown during that span. He'll concede height and reach advantages to Reyes, who is 4-1 with the promotion. Reyes lands more than double the striking volume of Hadzovic, but like his opponent, has yet to record a takedown in the UFC.
Notches impressive victory in Hamburg
July 22, 2018
Hadzovic defeated Nick Hein via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 134 on Sunday in Hamburg, Germany.
The scorecards were a bit puzzling for this one, as Hadzovic controlled the pace with an excellent stinging jab that opened up the face of his opponent throughout the course of the fight. Hadzovic had been unable to show his potential of late, having faced two strong wrestlers in his previous two fights but showcased tight, solid boxing and good shot selection en route to the victory. He now holds a 12-4 record in professional MMA.
Added to UFC Hamburg

Hadzovic will take on Nick Hein in a lightweight matchup at UFC Hamburg on July 22.
Hadzovic (1-2) will look to even his record with the UFC after taking a loss to Alan Patrick his last time out in a fight where he was taken down nine times. With the small sample size and that fight's results in mind, it's no surprise the Bosnian fighter sports a paltry 31 percent takedown defense. That shouldn't be an issue against Hein, however, who averages less than one completed takedown per 15 minutes in the cage. Hadzovic hasn't been particularly impressive in terms of striking volume in his UFC fights either -- 1.56 significant strikes landed per minute -- but he at least does a good job finishing fights, as the judges have not been needed in nine of his 11 professional victories.
