The 29-year-old Canadian will have to overcome disadvantages in both height and reach against the older Brazilian, though her Jiu-Jitsu background will likely lead her to make this a close-quarters affair. In this and every case, it was 17 takedown attempts, five of which landed. That resulted in 8:13 worth of control time and a clear cut unanimous decision victory. Gillian's striking isn't great and she's going to struggle to generate offense if those takedowns aren't landing, but she has one elite skill to fall back upon in the event of trouble. The Canadian is 5-1 in her past six bouts dating back to September 2022 and is quickly climbing the rankings at 115 pounds.
