ANALYSIS

Easily decisions Renan Barao
FeatherweightUFC
November 16, 2019
Silva de Andrade defeated Renan Barao via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
While a win over Barao means less than nothing in 2019, Silva de Andrade deserves credit for going out and handling his business in a fight in which he had nothing to gain and everything to lose. Facing a washed up opponent whose best days have long since passed, Silva de Andrade landed the much more impactful, cleaner strikes. Barao was unable to make him the massive power differential between the two men. Silva de Andrade is in a tough spot moving forward. He's a very good fighter and has more ability than his 4-3 record with the UFC would lead you to believe, but he's 34 years old and has struggled whenever tasked with facing better competition. It will be interesting to see who the UFC matches him up against moving forward.

Silva de Andrade will go up against Renan Barao in a featherweight fight at UFC Sao Paolo on Nov 16, Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
The bout puts two former bantamweight fighters up against each other, but both will be moving up to featherweight for the November bout. Silva de Andrade has dropped two of his last three fights in the octagon, with his most recent loss coming via TKO against Petr Yan at UFC 232. That led to a number of medical suspensions, but it looks like the 34-year-old from Brazil is back healthy and ready to fight again.

Quits on stool after Round 2

December 29, 2018
Silva de Andrade was defeated by Petr Yan via TKO (corner stoppage) after Round 2 at UFC 232 on Saturday in Los Angeles.
ANALYSIS
Silva de Andrade was no match for Yan. He was much slower and got lit up when the fight was standing. Silva de Andrade also could not stop Yan's takedowns. In the second round, Yan used a front choke to take the Brazilian down. Silva de Andrade absorbed brutal ground and pound. He was split open by a big elbow and was almost finished as the round ended. His corner decided to stop the fight between the second and third round, giving Yan the TKO victory.
