Continues strong run
Johns defeated Douglas Silva de Andrade via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
In a fight in which neither man did much of anything, Johns did more. He won the total strike battle by a 52-36 count. Neither man landed a takedown, as they combined to fail on all four of their attempts. In other words, there wasn't a whole lot going on either way. A member of the UFC roster for nearly five years now, Johns is still just 30 years of age. He's 6-2 (1NC) in nine fights with the company, but the UFC has been very careful regarding the level of competition it has matched him up against thus far. Johns is deserving of a better opponent his next time out.

Easily secures late-notice win
Johns defeated Cody Gibson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a nice, easy victory for Johns in a fight he accepted just a couple weeks ago. Miles did just enough on the feet to get his wrestling game going. He only landed 2-of-8 takedown attempts, but that was enough to secure 6:29 worth of control time, and unlike several other fighters in recent weeks, Johns stayed busy from top position. The soon-to-be 30-year-old Kansas native has struggled against better competition, but his 5-2 (1NC) mark in his first eight UFC bouts is a strong one.
