Rozenstruik lost to Francis Ngannou via KO (punches) at 0:20 of Round 1 at UFC 249 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
On paper, this appeared to be a horrendous matchup for Jair and that proved to be exactly the case. Ngannou crushed him with one sweeping left hook and Rozenstruik crumbled. There isn't a ton to dissect here. This loss really doesn't tell us much about Jair moving forward because we kind of already knew he wasn't on Ngannou's level. The question is can Rozenstruik pick up the pieces and rebound with a strong effort his next time out? This is the first loss of his pro career.

Rozenstruik will take on Francis Ngannou in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 249 on May 9, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rozenstruik and Ngannou have now had to endure two re-bookings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but according to Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com the UFC now has a location for its third attempt at this fight. It will be held in the state of Florida, with fighters expected to fly to Jacksonville and later be transported to a yet-to-be-specified location, with the Florida State Boxing Commission set to serve as the regulating body. The door is open for MMA to be considered an "essential business" in the state, so this event seemingly has a better chance of happening than several previous attempts. As far as the fight goes, Rozenstruik sits as a (+245) betting underdog for this matchup as of Tuesday evening.

Rozenstruick's fight against Francis Nganno will be postponed due to the threat of COVID-19, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After not taking action with nearly every other sports league last week, UFC President Dana White finally made the decision to postpone the next three events to try to limit the spread of COVID-19. Rozenstruick was scheduled to take on Ngannou on March 28 at UFC Columbus, but that was later moved to the UFC Apex center in Las Vegas. Now this fight will be pushed back to a later date that has yet to be announced. Rozenstruick last fought back in December when he defeated Allistair Overeem with a fifth round KO.
Ngannou fight in limbo

March 15, 2020
Rozenstruik's scheduled matchup against Francis Ngannou will likely be moved for the second time, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rozenstruick and Ngannou were originally scheduled for UFC Columbus on March 28, but the event was later moved to the UFC Apex center in Las Vegas. The state of Nevada has since imposed similar restrictions to many states on this type of gathering in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so it remains to be seen if the UFC can get this rescheduled to a new location. Saturday's UFC London has already been cancelled, with the UFC trying to find a new location stateside, while UFC Portland and UFC 249 also appear to be in jeopardy. Rozenstruik had been a (+230) betting underdog for the matchup as of Sunday afternoon.
